Harry Winston Midnight Minute Repeater: A Watch to Listen

Harry Winston demonstrated to the world again their superior craftsmanship in making complicated watches. Their latest masterpiece is the Harry Winston Midnight Minute Repeater.

Just look at the watch you’ll inevitably focus your attention on its arresting open dial design, the hollowed window at the upper left corner of the watch enfolded by a gold ring. That is the highlight of the watch, as indicated by its name: Minute Repeater.

A minute repeater is an aperture that can produce a pleasing chime to alert the watch wearer in every one-minute interval. The delicacy of the timepiece not only lies in the mechanics function itself, but also the accurate adjustment and design that ensures the watch to play the dulcet sound.

The chime of this watch is produced by 2 hammers located on the exterior of the movement – the one on top is engraved with a “H” and the one on the bottom with a “W”. The Midnight Minute Repeater can produce 3 kinds of chimes: low pitch for hours, altering low and high pitch for quarter hours, and high pitch for minutes. You can switch on or off the minute repeater function by pressing the push piece positioned at 8 o’clock. So you won’t be disturbed by the sound when you don’t need them.

The Harry Winston Midnight Minute Repeater is a truly testament to excellence in fine watch making. It comes in a limited edition of only 80 pieces: 40 in rose gold and 400 in white gold with a silver or dark dial. Only few connoisseurs can have the opportunity to closely gaze at the minute repeater and listen to its pleasing chime.
